Goodbye for Stam!

11 January 2012 - On the final night of the Rotterdam Six Days the peloton and public said goodbye to Danny Stam!    The six days rider, riding for the FFWD sponsored AA-Drink/Leontien.nl team, ended a long career on the bike officially in Rotterdam. Since the season is not completely over he will continue in three other six day races.  For this special race Stam decided to form a couple with his nephew Youri Havik and the derny was ridden by his dad. Despite winning the derny race and an overall good performance all six days, Stam and Havik came a bit short to take the vitory and ended on third place overall. In the final race of the night Havik and Stam tried to get an additional lap on the peloton, but unfortunately didn't make it. The Dutch couple Stroetinga/Schep took the victory before Mouris/Marvulli.     photo credit: ©bf-one.com

Auction for Weylandt fund

21 November 2011 - Through Belgian magazine Grinta! FFWD Wheels will auction the wheels of Wouter Weylandt for the support of his widow and child!   The 9th of May 2011 is a day that everyone in the cycling community will remember as the day Wouter Weylandt made his deadly crash during a stage of the Tour of Italy. As a pro cyclist Wouter did the maximum to reach the top. He was used to training on the cycling track in Gent where he did hard sprint training sessions, often in the company of his best friend Iljo Keisse (see photo, on the left). During those track training sessions Wouter used a pair of Fast Forward (FFWD) wheels. FFWD founder Henk Schipper requested the family to auction this pair of F9T track wheels, ridden by Wouter Weylandt. The money that will be raised, will go straight to the fund that was created after his death and that will support his widow and child.   The wheels that are on auction are the FFWD F9T track wheel set and a FFWD DISC-T rear track disc. The auction of the F9T can be found here, the DISC-T auction can be found here.
